Traditional Harness
Traditional harness leather (Wickett & Craig) is “jack glazed”, a process that repeatedly strokes the leather with glass rods which heat the hide through friction and bring up oils to the surface. This results in a beautiful glossy surface that is prone to an extremely satisfying aging process.

Red
Italian Vachetta
This red leather is the only color I offer from this tannery because it truly is something else and deserves its solo time in the spotlight. Suede-like finish on the inside and melted buttery smooth exterior.
Vachetta leather uses animal fats (tallow) and oils in the tanning process, leaving it softer than other veg tan leathers.
what they both have in common
All Natural Vegetable Tanning
Vegetable tanning is a chemical-free leather tanning process that consists of soaking the hides in vats filled with a blend of natural tannins that include the bark of trees like the Mimosa and Quebracho species. The entire process from prep to tanning, to dying, to drying takes around 6 weeks to complete.
No plastic or fake leather sold here!
“Struct Through” Dying Process
Both leathers feature a “Struct Through” dying process that completely soaks and penetrates the hide, so the color shows through on both sides.
It’s just better and looks cooler, trust me.
Dependable Durability
With proper care and use, the leather from these tanneries has the potential to be something special that will last multiple generations. At least until the apocalypse comes.
Even then, after the big one hits, and I’ve rebuilt my leather goods shack, I will honor the lifetime warranty of your wallet should it become vaporized in pure atomic radiation.
